FFA Places Second in District Entomology Contest

The Minneapolis High School Ag students placed second in the North Central District Entomology career development event held September 28 at Mankato High School.  Five schools participated in the event.  Bringing home medals were Dina Lyne tied for 2nd, Connor Flegler 4th, Kristen Lyne 5th, Samantha Ritchie 6th, Trisha Kiser and Mason Husted tied for eighth, and Lara Goudappel 10th out of 39 contestants.  Also participating were Kylie Mull, Jessie Patterson, Jessie Creamer, Kyle Wolfe, and Randall Runnion.

Of the five schools, Chapman scored 392 points for first.  Minneapolis came in second with 383 points, and Linn was 3rd place with 350 points.  Contestants identified 50 insects and took a written test over integrated pest management practices and insect habitats.
