Forensics Team Places 1st at Southeast of Saline

The Minneapolis High School Forensics Team competed in the Southeast of Saline Invitational on Saturday, February 13, 2010. Thirteen schools were in attendance, with Minneapolis placing 1st with 124 points. Sterling came in 2nd with 105 points, and Republic County placed 3rd with 82 points. "A lot of kids stepped up this week to help with this win. I was pleased with the effort and with the number of individual medals," state MHS Forensics Coach, Mrs. Bergman.
Individual Medal Winners Were:
Prose: Kendall Perry- 3rd, Meredith Clark-6th
Poetry: Ellie Labes-1st, Kaitlyn Cassel-5th, and Holly Gehrke-6th
Humorous Solo Acting: Caleb Kindall-2nd, and Kylen Laws-4th
Duet Acting: Caleb Kindall and Kendall Perry-1st, Quinton Church and Hunter Clark-5th
Informative Speech: Lydia Swisher-3rd, Kylen Laws-4th, Hunter Clark-6th
Original Oration: Dina Lyne-1st, Darrell Simmons-5th
Others competing and earning sweepstakes points were: Keith Allen and Brigette Jarrell
